An 11-module program that gives you the exact sequence, tools, and live coaching you need to market your book with confidence without becoming a social media machine or abandoning your writing.

Maybe it took years. Maybe it nearly broke you twice. But it’s done, and it’s out in the world — or almost there.
And now you’re staring at the marketing wall.
You know it’s there. You know you have to get through it. You’ve tried a few things — posted on social media, reached out to some readers, maybe ran a promotion or two. But nothing seems to compound. Nothing builds. Every Monday feels like starting from zero again.
Worse, you’re getting advice from everywhere.
• “Post more.”
• “Be on TikTok.”
• “Build a newsletter.”
• “Run ads.”
• “Focus on Amazon.”
• “Get on podcasts.”
• “Try BookTok.”
All of it is probably true. None of it tells you what to do first.
Here’s what they said:
These authors aren’t lazy.
They’re publishing books, running ads, attending conventions, building newsletters, doing interviews.
They’re overwhelmed and frustrated, not inactive.
And here’s what I’ve noticed when I look closely at what’s actually going wrong:
Everything looks equally important, so you either try everything at once (and burn out) or freeze entirely. This isn’t a discipline problem. It’s a sequencing problem. Nobody told you what to do first.
Writers fear sounding salesy, being annoying, or looking desperate. So marketing becomes avoidance — or worse, frantic activity that feels manipulative and gets ignored anyway. This is an alignment problem. You’ve been handed tactics from a world that tries to convince instead of connect.
You get a spike, then silence. Traffic doesn’t stick. Effort doesn’t build. Every launch feels like starting from scratch. This is a systems problem. Nothing is designed to compound.
Marketing is not convincing someone to buy your book. It’s not manipulating them. It’s not performing confidence you don’t have or begging for attention.
Book marketing (done right) is this: making your book findable. Building communities of interest. Reducing friction in the buying process. Helping the right readers say yes.
You don’t need everyone to hear about your book. You need the right readers to hear about it.
And here’s the thing: those right readers are looking for exactly what you’ve written. They just can’t find it yet.
Introducing
An 11-module book marketing system built for writers, not marketers.
Signal Boost isn’t platform-chasing or hype-driven. It doesn’t rely on Amazon ads or Facebook ads. It doesn’t require endless content creation or becoming someone you’re not.
It’s built on three things: clarity, momentum, and connection.
And it was built by someone who has spent a decade inside the creative struggle, not just the marketing mechanics.
Hi. I'm Kevin T. Johns.
I want to be upfront with you about something:
I’m not a book marketer.
I’m a writing coach.
I built Signal Boost because I kept watching my clients finish their books and then hit the wall. They’d spent a year learning how to write a novel. Nobody had taught them how to get it into readers’ hands.
Every book marketer they turned to was teaching tactics designed for businesses, not for authors with one book and five hours a week.
Signal Boost is the program I wished existed when I launched my first book. It’s built from the inside by a writer, for writers.
11 weekly coaching calls (one per module) + 2 Implementation Labs where you stop learning and start building — with Kevin in the room.
This is what separates Signal Boost from other book marketing training and online courses. With Signal Boost you are not on your own.
Ready to stop starting from scratch?
The August 17 cohort has 10 spots. Enrollment closes August 15.
11 modules. 13 live coaching sessions. 20+ tools and templates. 10+ hours of bonus expert training.
“Marketing doesn’t replace word of mouth, but it can accelerate it.”
Before you do anything tactical, you need to understand how books actually sell — not the way marketers explain it, but the way readers actually experience it. Module 1 reframes marketing as a generous, reader-focused process built on great books, word of mouth, trust, and consistency. You’ll install the 4-Step Signal Boost Marketing Flow that guides every decision you make in the rest of the program.
Includes: Signal Boost Marketing Clarity Worksheet • Bonus Expert Training: Heart-Centered Marketing with Beth Barany (1 hr 33 min)
“A book cover is image + typography, shaped by color and composition, designed to send clear genre and emotional signals... fast.”
Most authors try to drive traffic before fixing the place traffic lands. Module 2 fixes that. You’ll learn to treat your Amazon sales page as a storefront — aligning your cover, blurb, and positioning so readers instantly recognize your book as “for them.” You’ll work through the 5-Step Signal Boost Blurb Template to turn your blurb from a summary into a sales tool.
Includes: Book Cover Brief • Book Blurb Worksheet • Bonus: How to Use Comp Titles • Interview with Book Brush founder Kathleen Sweeney
“You don’t win by shouting in the biggest room. You win by owning the right room.”
Amazon is a search engine. If it doesn’t know who your book is for, it won’t show it to the right readers. Module 3 teaches you how to choose categories strategically (micro-categories often beat massive shelves), build a 7-box keyword stack based on real reader search behavior, and run the Signal Boost Alignment Audit to ensure everything is pointing in the same direction.
Includes: Category Positioning Worksheet • Keyword Stack Worksheet • Signal Boost Alignment Audit
“Confusion kills conversions.”
Your author website is the hub of your entire marketing system — the place where attention becomes trust and visitors take action. Module 4 shows you how to build (or rebuild) four essential pages: home page, books page, email sign-up page, and about page. You’ll learn the Signal Boost Sales Funnel and how to guide readers from social media to your site, onto your email list, and toward your books.
Includes: Home Page Builder • Books Page Builder • Opt-In Page Builder • About Page + Bio System Builder • Bonus: How to Build Your Writer Platform and Still Find Time to Write (1 hr 35 min)
“You’re not selling what your book is. You’re selling how it feels to read it.”
You’re a storyteller. Module 5 shows you how to apply that skill to your marketing. You’ll learn the SETUP Framework for aligning your messaging across your website, emails, social media, and ads. You’ll build hooks that create curiosity and urgency, and you’ll learn how to craft calls to action that guide readers toward confident decisions — without pressure or hype.
Includes: Story to Reader Translator • SETUP Framework Builder • Hook Builder • Angle Generator • Message Clarity Filter • Bonus: SEO for Authors with Mike Hurst (1 hr 34 min)
“Silence loses far more readers than bad emails or overly frequent emails.”
Your email list is the only marketing asset you truly own. Module 6 teaches you how to grow it, what to send, and how to build the kind of reader relationships that compound over time. You’ll implement a 5-email welcome sequence framework and develop a sustainable broadcast strategy using six core email types — so you stay present and relevant without overcomplicating your system.
Includes: 5-Part Welcome Sequence Template • Broadcast Email Template • Bonus: Matthew Kimberley Masterclass — Delightful Emails for Authors (58 min)
“Good outreach involves offering a relevant idea to someone who needs content in a way that makes their job easier.”
The fastest way to reach new readers is to borrow someone else’s audience. Module 7 gives you a repeatable system for getting featured on podcasts, blogs, and other platforms — without mass outreach or cold-pitching strangers. You’ll learn how to identify aligned opportunities, craft outreach that makes you an easy yes, and build a professional media kit that opens doors.
Includes: Media Outreach Tracker • Outreach Email Template • Media Kit Template • Bonus: Making a Media Kit in Real-Time (1 hr 24 min)
“Content creation should support your writing life, not consume it.”
Creating content doesn’t have to mean living on social media. The CRAFT System — Converse, Record, Amplify, Format, Transfer — shows you how to turn a single conversation into weeks of authentic marketing content. One interview becomes social posts, email subject lines, carousel ideas, video hooks, and more. You’ll use AI tools to amplify your voice without replacing it.
Includes: CRAFT Conversation Guide • CRAFT Content System AI Prompt • Bonus: CRAFT System Pilot Workshop (1 hr 45 min)
“A review system should build trust with your readers, not undermine it.”
Reviews build trust. Trust sells books. But most authors either beg awkwardly for reviews or avoid asking entirely. Module 9 gives you a practical, ethical review generation system — including soft launches, personal outreach, email-list follow-up, and well-timed reminders — so you can build social proof without feeling pushy or compromising your integrity.
Includes: The Signal Boost Review Toolbox • Bonus: How to Get Endorsement Blurbs (28 min)
“Sometimes the best way to boost your signal is to stop broadcasting alone.”
Marketing doesn’t have to be a solo activity. Module 10 introduces the Signal Boost 60 — a relationship map of peer authors, platform partners, and warm supporters who can help you reach new readers. You’ll build a 30-day collaborative growth plan and learn how to develop win-win partnerships that expand your visibility without feeling transactional.
Includes: The Signal Boost 60 Framework • 30-Day Collaborative Growth Plan • Bonus: Write, Connect, Thrive — Building Your Author Network with Danika Bloom (1 hr 35 min)
“A sustainable marketing system is not built by doing everything. It’s built by doing the right things consistently.”
The final module ties everything together. You’ll audit your marketing assets, identify the single biggest gap in your reader journey, and build a focused 90-day plan — with three phases (Stabilize, Build, Amplify) — so you stop trying to do everything and start doing the right things consistently. This is how Signal Boost becomes a sustainable quarterly rhythm, not a one-time event.
Includes: Marketing Asset Audit Worksheet • 90-Day Plan Worksheet
"Before Signal Boost, I was questioning if writing was even for me because marketing felt like an insurmountable wall and I had no idea where to even begin. All of my efforts were so disjointed. It felt like I was just throwing stuff around hoping something would stick.
After Signal Boost, I see where and how everything fits together and how every step can and should work in unison. The wall is still there, but now I can see a plan of attack. Marketing doesn't feel overwhelming anymore. For the first time, I feel like I have a plan I can actually work.
Signal Boost reinvigorated my desire for writing. This program was everything I wanted and more."
Josh Resinger, author of The Story of My Life
"Signal Boost opened my eyes to how complex marketing really is and gave me a place to start. It was the right next step after publishing, and it kept me focused on the process. There was so much information in 11 weeks. If you're a published author wondering what to do next, this is it."
Margot Stornelli, author of The Big Red Suitcase
Every month without a marketing system is another month your book sits undiscovered. Another launch into silence. Another convention or podcast appearance that doesn't compound into anything.
If Signal Boost helps you reach even one reader relationship that leads to a speaking invitation, a review from the right person, or a word-of-mouth recommendation — the math on $1,997 changes fast.
The question isn't whether you can afford Signal Boost. It's whether you can afford another year without it.
Total Value: $4,179
This cohort is limited to 10 writers. Live coaching calls require a small group — once those 10 spots are filled, enrollment closes.
Enrollment closes August 15, 2026. Cohort begins August 17.
FULL PROGRAM ACCESS: $1,997
Here’s what I’m asking you to do: complete the first four modules and their worksheets.
If you do that work — watch the modules, fill in the tools — and you don’t walk away with a clear, sequenced marketing system for your book and the concrete tools to execute it, email me and I’ll refund every dollar. No hoops. No guilt. No hard feelings.
I’m not asking you to trust me. I’m asking you to do the work and see what happens. The guarantee exists because I already know what happens when you do.
How much time does this take each week?
The core modules run 40–60 minutes each. Implementation time varies — some weeks are lighter, some heavier. Most students find 3–5 hours per week is enough to watch the module, complete the worksheet, and begin implementation.
I'm not published yet. Can I still join?
Signal Boost is designed for authors with a book out in the world or who are within 90 days of launch. If you’re still writing or revising, the writing coaching programs (Story Plan Intensive, First Draft, Final Draft) are the right fit first. Signal Boost will be here when you’re ready.
Do I need a big following or email list to start?
No. Signal Boost teaches you how to build your platform from the ground up. You don’t need anything in place before you start — that’s what the first four modules are for.
Is this specifically for fiction authors?
Signal Boost was built by and for a fiction writing coach, and the examples throughout lean toward commercial fiction. Non-fiction authors have completed the program successfully, but if your book is genre fiction, you’re in the exact right place.
I already have some marketing in place. Will Signal Boost still be useful?
Yes, and Module 11’s Marketing Asset Audit is specifically designed to show you what you already have, what’s missing, and what to build next. Many students with existing platforms found Signal Boost helped them stop doing the wrong things and start doing the right things consistently.
Will I have lifetime access to the materials?
Yes. Once you enroll, you have lifetime access to all 11 modules, all worksheets and templates, all bonus trainings, and all future updates to the program.
I've bought courses before and never finished them. Why will this be different?
Two reasons. First, Signal Boost is cohort-based — you're not watching recordings alone at 11pm. You have a start date, a live group, and a Kevin on the other end of the call each week. Second, the two Implementation Labs exist specifically for this: sessions where you stop watching and start building, with everyone else in the room doing the same work at the same time. Accountability isn't a bonus feature here. It's built into the architecture of the program.
What if I can't make a live coaching call?
All 13 sessions are recorded. You'll have access to every recording inside your member portal and can watch them any time. That said, the live calls are where the real momentum happens — the Q&A, the feedback, the 'wait, that's my problem too' moments. If you can make even 8 of 13, you'll get the full benefit of the program.
When do coaching calls take place?
The Signal Boost coaching calls take place every Saturday at 1 pm Eastern from Saturday, August 2 to Saturday, November 2, 2026. The coaching calls are hosted on Zoom.
You’ve already done the hardest part. Signal Boost handles the rest.
11 modules. 20+ tools. 10+ hours of expert training. A clear system that compounds.
P.S. The August 17 cohort is limited to 10 writers. Live coaching calls only work with a small group, and once those spots are gone, enrollment closes until Q4.
If book marketing has been on your list for six months, it'll still be on your list in six months without a system. Signal Boost is the system.
