Does This Sound Familiar?

You sit down to write, and life gets in the way. The job, the kids, and the eleven other things on today's list never stop asking for your attention. You've done NaNoWriMo. You've read the craft books. You've started strong more than once and lost the thread somewhere around chapter six, every single time.

Here's what nobody's told you: you're missing the blueprint.

Nobody ever taught you how a novel is actually built: the architecture underneath every book that holds the whole thing together. Without it, every draft is reinvention from scratch. That's why it's exhausting, and that's why it keeps not working.

With it, everything changes.

The Machinery of Fiction

Most writing advice is about mindset. "Show up every day." "Trust the process." "Write through the fear."

That's not what I teach.

I'm a nuts-and-bolts writing coach. I teach the architecture behind commercial novels: what decisions to make, in what order, and why. How scenes do their work. How structure holds 90,000 words together instead of collapsing halfway through.

Once you have the framework, the blank page stops being terrifying. You're not guessing anymore beause you have a map.

A clear plan before you draft a single scene
A structure that holds together for the whole book, not just the first act
A way to tell if a scene is working, before your reader tells you it isn't
A repeatable process, so book two doesn't start from zero either

"I wasn't even going to publish it. I just wanted to say I could write a book, and then I went ahead and published it with Kevin's encouragement."

Linda Garnett

Author of Red Falls, hit #7 on Amazon in cult suspense at launch after 12 years of unfinished manuscripts.

What Writers Say

"I really couldn't have done it without you and all the other members of our group. Getting honest feedback from people who actually know how hard it is — where do you get that in this world?"

Sandy Day, author of Odd Mom Out and Where the Night Winds Wail

"You gave me, like, a PhD in writing. Instead of going to school, I just speed ran a PhD in creative writing."

Michael Leonard, author of Pilgrims

"I was a pantser. Now I am a plotter. This course changed my writing life."

Anne Kane, author of the Riptide MC Romance series

Frequently asked questions

I don't have time to write, let alone take a course.

That's exactly what The Busy Writer Method is for — it's a free guide built specifically to help busy people find 5–10 hours a week without blowing up their life. Start there before anything else.

I need to finish my current draft first, then I'll take a course.

That's the trap. You're trying to finish this draft using exactly the approach that hasn't worked for years. You're not behind because you haven't tried hard enough — you're stuck because you're missing the blueprint every published writer ends up using. The fastest path to finishing this draft is learning the system that finishes drafts.

I don't do well in group programs. I'm an introvert.

Most of my writers say the same thing going in. Then they end up as podcast guests and retreat attendees. Virtual, small-group coaching tends to be the preferred format for introverted writers, not a compromise — and if you'd rather work one-on-one from the start, that's what 1:1 coaching is for.

I can't afford it right now.

There's a place to start at every level of investment — beginning with a completely free guide. Most people who think this is a money problem find it's actually a value question: the deliverable isn't just a book, it's finally trusting yourself as a writer. Start free and see where it leads.

What genres do you work with?

Commercial genre fiction — fantasy, horror, thriller, mystery, sci-fi, paranormal, gothic, and YA dark fantasy. This isn't the right fit for literary or experimental prose.

I don't have a book idea yet, so is this too early for me?

Story Plan Intensive is my four-week program specifically for authors at the start of their story.
